Only One Cancel Me is God: Tiffany Haddish Says Her Life is Being Redecorated, Admits Th
Tiffany Haddish is embracing the changes taking place in her life.
The actress has apparently had quite the shakeup in her private life since dealing with the fallout from a child abuse lawsuit last month. In a tweet she wrote, “God has been redecorating my life lately and I must say at 1st I was very uncomfortable,” on Oct. 12.
She continued, “But I see where he is going with it and I am so much better off. Thank You God! You are the best at getting rid of the mess. ( and when I say mess you know who and what I mean God) Amen.”
In September, it was reported Haddish and Aries Spears were sued by the children of the “Night School” star’s former friend. The siblings accused the comedians of grooming and molesting them in connection to incidents, which included a controversial comedy skit, in 2013 and 2014.
“Clearly, while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all— and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it. I really look forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can,” Haddish said when she publicly addressed the legal wrangling.
By the end of the month, Haddish reached an agreement with the siblings, and the court case was settled. The “Girls Trip” actress later revealed that she lost” everything” after publicly facing the damning accusations. However, she kicked off October with her return to the stage. It marked her first performance since the lawsuit was publicized.
A fan who commented on Haddish’s tweet wrote, “Best of luck young lady hope they don’t cancel you not judge you because I don’t know the facts but [praying emoji] for you [100 emoji].” Tiffany responded, “Only one cancel me is God!”
While the controversy was somewhat of a blow to “The Last Black Unicorn” author’s reputation, it may have come with a silver lining. Haddish said she found out who her real friends were as she faced public scrutiny. “Everybody isn’t your friend. Just because they hang around you and laugh with you doesn’t mean they are your friend. People pretend well. At the end of the day, real situations expose fake people, So pay attention.”
